Employees who work in outdoor places of employment or who work in other locations where environmental risk factors for heat illness are present are at risk for developing heat related illnesses if they do not protect themselves appropriately. The objective of this program is to reduce the potential for heat illnesses by making employees aware of heat illnesses, ways to prevent illnesses, and actions to take if symptoms occur.
This program consists of (7) elements: Purpose, Scope, Definition(s), Responsibility, Procedure, Training Requirements and Training Frequency.
